“What an Indie Publisher Wants”

I’m trying to imagine a world with “indies” in both music labels and VG publishers. It boggles my mind.
Sure, there are already instances of video game makers feeling the corporate squeeze on their creativity (scroll to “Pressure for sequel”) but imagine if the full spectrum of indie-major label drama were created. Then again, maybe created is the wrong way to think about it - in light of that last article, maybe these are like the Motown years - a factory is churning out hits, but nobody is standing up becuase they all think they have a good thing. Maybe the video game industry will evolve into that drama - but that’s a whole other basket of semantics.
